Stratify 360 assisted a Small-Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) in the agricultural industry to leverage generative AI to assist in summarizing large volumes of drone footage and enable querying to enhance productivity and efficiency.
At a Glance
Unmanned drones mounted with OGI cameras are used to survey vast areas. Using drones in this mannersignificantly reduces operational costs. The client already leveraged an AI-based volumetric monitoring solution. Thechallenge involved using the drone footage. The manual inspection of drone footage was still required for environmental monitoring, security review, safety assessment, and retrospective analysis.
Stratify 360 combined computer vision solutions and generative AI to create smart assistive summaries in natural language from thousands of hours of drone footage. The assistive smart summaries are based on a pre-determined template, where observations are generated about elevations, topology, lighting, vegetation, and other factors. Summaries are also queried in natural language, enabling questions to be asked without the assessor manually reviewing all footage.
The Story
Generative AI models also needed to interpret environmental indicators, assess ecological impacts, or consider local conditions and regulations. Training data availability and quality is used to impact the AI model’s ability to generalize and handle diverse environmental scenarios.
Stratify 360 understood that using generative AI to analyze and summarize the drone footage could lead unsecure data handling, unsecure access, raise privacy concerns, and raise legal and regulatory implications.
Security protocols were implemented for drone footage containing sensitive information, personally identifiable information, facial images, confidential business information, footage captured on private properties, or areas with restricted access.
